Attorney Paul R. Leake

With over 35 years of experience in the legal profession, Paul R. Leake is a distinguished trial lawyer with hundreds of trials to his name. He now focuses his legal practice on probate, real estate, and civil litigation, but he has decades of experience in several other areas of the law as well. Paul learned under his late father, Loncy L. Leake, who first started in the 1950s in Mesquite, Texas, what has now become the Leake Law Firm, PLLC. Paul adds a level of legal experience to our legal team that is nearly unmatched in the Dallas area.

Educational Background

After graduating from Mesquite High School and receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration from SMU’s Cox School of Business, Paul went on to attend South Texas College of Law from 1977 to 1980. During that time, he was selected as a member of the South Texas Law Review and was inducted into the Order of the Lytae, the former of which is an organization where the top students are chosen to help facilitate scholarly discussion of the pressing legal issues of the day, and the latter a designation given only to those considered to have reached the highest levels of academic achievement at the South Texas College of Law.

Legal Experience

During his time as a law student, Paul worked at the Eikenburg & Stiles law firm in Houston, Texas. After graduating in 1980, Paul joined his father, Loncy L. Leake’s practice in Mesquite, Texas, and has worked alongside several talented partners, colleagues, and associates along the way.

Over the years, Paul has won numerous six figure verdicts on cases that included claims for breach of fiduciary duty, will contests, Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, real estate fraud, and more. He is also a licensed mediator who is regularly called on by local judges to mediate cases involving probate matters, real estate disputes, and other areas within his expertise.

Community Involvement

Paul has served the local community in numerous ways, including seven years as a Trustee for the Dallas County Community College District, two terms as the President of the Mesquite Bar Association, one term as President of the Mesquite Lions Club, two terms as the President of Old Town Mesquite, and as a Board Member for both the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce and for the Board of Directors for Mesquite Social Services. He has also served as a member and actively participated in the Forney Chamber of Commerce and the Kaufman Bar Association.
